Why Your Business Needs a Brand

You have a cause and mission in your business. The way to get an audience is through a personal brand. A personal brand is a marketing strategy that connects people with personalities that create content, products, and services that meet the needs of an audience.

So how do you create a brand as a small business? Over the next few paragraphs, I’m going to walk you through the 5 things that you need to set up your personal brand and create meaningful connections through social media to lead to generate more profit in your business.

Your Story Matters

I remember when I started my personal finance blog, I was thrilled. I had so many exciting ideas and content to share with my friends and family and a new and budding audience. I thought for sure that people would easily connect with my content, so I kept sharing my tips and hacks but no one seemed to care! I took a step back and realized what was wrong with my equation. I had taken myself out of the picture. In the pursuit of trying to serve my audience of what I was trying to accomplish, people weren’t getting to see the real me. The messy me. The one who was still trying to figure it all out. That’s when I started creating content that connected with who I was and wrote more about the things that my clients and prospective clients would find helpful. So the first thing you need to do is write down your story of transformation and bring your audience on a journey with you.

Riches in Niches

Once you determine who your audience is and really nail down on the demographics, you’ll have to start to create content that resonates. Don’t worry about being so polished and perfect because generally, people care about authenticity over success. People love lessons that you have learned and to learn more about the things that you are working on. People are generally drawn to victory stories, but if you post too many successes, your content will start to feel inauthentic. So after you consider your audience, really consider how your content can help fill the needs of your potential customers.

Why You Need a Branding Guide

One of the easiest ways to create content that will leave an impression on a client is to use a branding guide. A branding guide provides you with a consistent look and feel for your content and includes the main colors, fonts, and the logo for your business. This branding guide can help you create images that are visually appealing to look at and make emotional connections with your audience. It’s one of the simplest tools to use in your toolkit that will help lead to others recognizing your story and the audience you serve.
